Thorvaldur Gylfason (born 1951) is Professor of Economics at the University of Iceland and Research Fellow at the CESinfo Group at Munich.
He has published some 200 papers, as well as 20 books and soon 1,000 newspaper articles.
He has also composed some 100 songs for mixed choir, voice, piano, etc, many of which have been performed by word-renowned artists at concerts and on national television in Iceland.
He was elected to Iceland´s Constitutional Assembly in 2010 and appointed by Parliament to a Constitutional Council that drafted and unanimously passed a constitutional bill that was delivered to Parliament in 2011 and endorsed by 67% of Icelandic voters in a national referendum called by Parliament in 2012.
He is, together with Emil Ems, editor of the book "Prosperity through Trade and Structural Reform" and he himself contribute with a chapter "From National Resources to Human Rights".
